Jim and Marg Glenn have recently been inducted into the Peterborough County Agricultural Wall of Fame.
Jim is a proud ‘70 grad from Kemptville Agricultural College. While at the college, he was College Royal President and Student of the year. The Kemptville College Alumni proudly displays the President’s Cane in our Alumni Historical Building. Marg graduated from the University of Western Ontario and worked as a dietitian.
Together they have created the multi-faceted Glen Isle Farms Inc. in Keene, Ontario. They were a two-time Master Breeder Holstein herd before dispersing in 1988. The Glenn family, which includes their children, Joelle, Jenny, Matt and Paul, was named Peterborough County Farm Family of the Year in 2006. Joelle, Matt and Paul, all work in the Glen Isle businesses, which include cash cropping, custom work, trucking, snow removal, exporting hay &straw, a Pioneer dealership, and wood shaving supplier. Their daughter Jenny is a teacher in Peterborough. Jim and Marg enjoy having their children all living within a two-mile radius. They also enjoy time with their nine grandchildren.
Jim, Marg and their children have all been involved in many community organizations. Many Kemptville grads enjoyed their time at Glen Isle Farms when they hosted the International Plowing Match in 2006.
For some people, volunteering is about giving but for the Glenn family it is a way of living. Congratulations on your many achievements.
