Kemptville Campus Education Day
On Sept. 28th the Kemptville Campus held an Education Day. The Kemptville College Alumni was asked to be present to show some memorabilia from the days when they were students at Kemptville. Manning the display are Alumni Members (L to R ) Isabel Kinnear ‘69, Grace & Joe Allison ‘68, Kim Link ’69, and Audrey Baker ‘70. Many alumni stopped by to check out the display and get info on the Farm Show, 2020 Reunion and the new Historical Building at Lombardy Fairgrounds.
Leahurst Painting
The Kemptville College Alumni is pleased to accept an oil painting from
Nancy Curtis, the wife of John Curtis, a former principal of Kemptville
College. This painting will be hung in the Kemptville College Alumni
Historical Building and it will bring back many memories of the meals the
Food and Fashion Grads had to prepare at Leahurst to obtain college
credits to graduate. Thank you very much Nancy.
Official Opening of the Kemptville College Alumni Historical Building
The Kemptville College Alumni Historical Building was officially opened on August 24th, 2019 at the annual reunion.Mayor Ari Hoogenboom, Mayor of Rideau Lakes Township is cutting the ribbon and on the left is the Project Coordinator, Ron Burgess and the Alumni Board members and to the right is the Lombardy Agricultural Society President , Bonnie Covell and some of the executive members of the Lombardy Agricultural Society.
Over 100 people attended the ribbon cutting and later that day 185 enjoyed a roast beef dinner prepared by the Lombardy Agricultural Society. Grads from 30 graduating years attended the reunion to renew friendships from their college years.
The Kemptville College Alumni extends a thank you to the Lombardy Agricultural Society, Kemptville grads, businesses, organizations, financial institutions, and friends who contributed and continue to contribute financially to the success of this building.The skilled craftsmen and volunteers spent many hours on their weekends to complete the beautiful building that was opened today.The Donor Frames will be updated each year after the annual reunion.
Unity is strength – when there is teamwork & collaboration ,wonderful things can be achieved.

St. Albert World Record Threshing Machine Competition for the Guinness World Record
Don Good, a ‘66 Kemptville College Grad recently attended the St.Albert World Record Threshing Machine Competition. Don attended in his capacity of President of Ontario Institute of Agrologists for the Ottawa Valley – St. Lawrence Branch. Don is pictured by one of the over 250 trashing machines that helped to set a new Guinness World Record for the most machines all working together.
The sound of 250 plus working threshing machines and tractors driving them was also enjoyed by Ashley a 2012 Kemptville Grad and her husband Erick who is standing in the center beside Don.
